Disney Day 2

Despite the family picture above, we actually started out day 2 (our first full day) at Disney's Hollywood Studios. The one thing Owen really really really wanted to do at Disney World was to ride on the Star Wars Ride, so we knew we had to do that as soon as possible. We had breakfast at the resort and headed out first thing arriving at the park right when it opened at 9am. Owen got a chance to see Stitch and caught a glimpse of Donald & Daisy duck before we entered the gates.

We headed straight for the Star Wars ride when we saw this sign for the "Jedi Training Academy." We stopped in and signed Owen up to do it, but once he learned he would actually have to fight Darth Vader with a light saber, he decided he didn't want to. The "training" shows go on all day long (but you have to be among the first to sign up in the morning in order to even get a spot), and after he watched it he decided that the next time we are at Hollywood Studios he will want to do it.

So off Robert and Owen went to the Star Wars ride. We had fast passes for it so they didn't have to stand in line, and after getting off the ride Owen told Robert "that was better then cool, it was awesome!" (I think he liked it...) So we had to then take a few photos on a Star Wars space vehicle.

Then we were off to explore the park a little more and since it was hot we decided to cool off on "The Great American Movie Ride" The wait was minimal and it was nice to sit down and chill for a moment. When we got off we were going to go check out a few potential lunch spots but spotted Lightening McQueen and Mater and had to stop to say "Hi".

For lunch we ate at this really fun place that is made to look like a drive in movie theater. The tables are all inside of cars and its dark inside with a starry sky ceiling and a huge screen playing old sci-fi movies.

After lunch we walked a bit and found the "Honey I Shrunk The Kids" playground. Owen had a blast getting a chance to climb, run and play and afterward we took advantage of our Toy Story Mania fast passes that I had grabbed that morning. This ride was so fun, we all wore 3D glasses and sat in a car that twisted and turned while we tried to shoot at various targets to get points. I think Peyton got a little motion sick but Owen sure loved it!

At 3:00 we got a prime spot to watch the Pixar Friends parade down Hollywood Blvd. I think we got an abbreviated version because it only lasted about 10 minutes and many of the characters I had heard about were not in attendance, but Owen didn't care, he loved the parts he did see!

While we watched the parade Robert used his fast pass to ride the Tower of Terror. That was the one thing he was really wanting to do and it worked out great that we could enjoy the parade while he did that. And the timing was perfect because just as the parade ended the skies opened up and it poured rain. Thankfully we got to do most of what we wanted to Hollywood Studios so we ran through the downpour to catch the bus back to our hotel.

After drying off and resting a bit we decided dinner at Epcot would be fun. It was raining on and off, but we went anyways and upon arriving found that there was no line to ride on Space Ship Earth. Owen enjoyed it and Peyton, well, she was pretty exhausted by this point...

After the ride we went straight to the World Showcase in search of dinner. We stopped in Mexico at a cantina and ate some delicious tacos & nachos. After dinner we walked around Norway and China a bit before deciding we would tough out the rain in hopes of catching the "Illuminations, Reflections of Earth" fireworks & light show. It was a great fireworks and light show and the perfect way to end Day 2 of our trip!
