This year Owen decided he wanted to have a Transformers party and he wanted to invite all of his friends from school to come. Knowing that we were potentially inviting upwards of 20 kids, we decided a park party would be the best choice again for this year. What we didn't know was that a storm called Derecho would blow through the area the night before and completely throw off all of our plans! But, if you know us, you know we don't let many things get in the way of our fun. So despite both Owen and I having been sick in the days leading up to the party and the power being out to more then 900,000 people in the area and downed trees closing roads, the party went on, and it was an absolute blast!
First Robert and Josh had to figure out how to hang the piñata, and they were quite proud of themselves when they actually got it hung in the tree!
Owen & Madeline waited patiently for some other guests to arrive before they started playing with the squirt guns and water balloons.
Peyton was a trooper and hung out in the shade munching on cold watermelon
The big kids took turns trying to break into the piñata
And then it was cake time!
