Owen Goes To Pre-K

Owen's first official day of Pre-K was Monday, September 13 2011. He popped up out of bed that morning and declared that it was his first day of school and he was ready to go. Two hours later we headed out the door and both Robert and I accompanied him to his classroom for drop off. We walked up to the door to his class, he gave us each a hug and with a smile and a wave he walked right into his room. And just like that my baby went from being completely dependent on his mama to an independent little person ready to face the world!

And he was equally excited to get up and go his second day too! We are so thrilled that he loves his teachers and his class and enjoys learning and trying new things. We are so very proud of the little person Owen is growing up to be!

Pre-K Class Visit

This year Owen is attending Pre-K at Washington Street United Methodist Church Preschool (WSUMCP) in Old Town Alexandria. We've been prepping him all summer talking about his new friends and teachers and even stopping by to visit the playground a time or two.

The week before school started at the beginning of September  we were invited to spend some time in the classroom and get to know Owen's teachers and classmates. He has two teachers, Miss Melissa and Miss Rosie and he was so excited to meet them and explore his new classroom!

After the class visit he spent the entire weekend talking about school and the things he wanted to play with. We were just hoping that he wouldn't loose that excitement at drop off on Monday morning!

Getting Ready for Baby

We spent a good bit of this summer planning and getting ready for baby and Owen has been a huge help! He loves to pick things out for the baby and often finds cool toys (mostly labeled for ages 3 and up) that we should "buy for the baby!"

(Owen loved helping with the registry for my shower)

(Owen wanted to take a picture of the baby, he did a great job!)
