Disney Day 1

We headed out for our first ever family trip to Walt Disney World on June 21, 2012. We booked our stay at the All Star Movies Resort and planned to be there for 4 fun filled days. Disney makes everything so effortless and just one of the many amenities we enjoyed was using their Disney Magical Express Service. Upon arriving at Orlando airport, we simply got off the plane and headed to the Disney Magical Express buses while they retrieved our luggage and delivered it to our room for us.

Upon arriving at the All Star Movies Resort, Robert knew just where to head to first...
While checking in we learned that they had us staying in the "Toy Story" buildings of the All Star Movies Resort, and Owen could not have been more thrilled. The first thing we spotted walking to our room was a life sized R/C Car!

The courtyard outside of our room was made to look like Andy's Room
Complete with larger than life Buzz, Woody, Rex & Bo Peep

Since our bags and things were taken care of, we just took a quick look at our room and around the hotel grounds and then we were off to the Magic Kingdom for the afternoon!
Owen's first glimpse of Main Street USA!
And Cinderella Castle

We visited Adventureland first with a stop at the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse

From the treehouse we had a great view of some of the fun things that were right around us. We headed next to the Tiki Room where Peyton was fascinated by all of the moving and singing birds. Then we were delighted to find that there was only a short 15 minute wait for Pirates of the Caribbean so we got in line for that. Things started off a little rocky on that ride when Owen got scared of the darkness and the first downhill dip. We were able to recover in time to find Captain Jack Sparrow and though he did not want to ride Pirates again, we thankfully didn't scar him and he was willing to try out other rides. So on to Fantasy Land we went where we hopped on "Its A Small World" (which Owen declared to be "boring") At least we knew our mission- to find a happy median somewhere in between Pirates and Small World! HA!

After our morning of travels and a bit of walking around the park we decided it would be a good idea to grab dinner and head back to the hotel for the night. We got a chance to scope out other things we wanted to do at Magic Kingdom and it was the perfect way to ease into the excitement of our trip!
