Coming Home

We were able to bring Peyton home from the hospital on Saturday morning, October 8th. Robert went to pick up Owen so he could be a part of the homecoming too!

Time to pose for a picture (Owen: "Get used to this kid! She loves to take pictures")

Big Brother and Little Sister shirts :-)

A family resemblance? HA!

All ready to go!

Peyton & Daddy

First time in the car!

Arriving home!

Ahh, sure feels good to be here!

Surrounded by Love

During our stay in the hospital we had so many people come to meet Peyton! It was so fun having visitors knowing each one of them anticipated her arrival just as much as we did :-)

First was big brother Owen, who met Peyton just 5hrs after she was born!

Then it was Aunty Laurie's turn!

Our first picture as a family of 4!

Jessica, Tim and Emerson came to visit us that afternoon

Then Jessica, Josh and Madeline brought us dinner (thanks guys!)

Kristy, Mike and Jovie were the last to visit on the day Peyton was born ( I wonder if Jovie remembered being here just six weeks earlier?!)

The next day Erica and Steve came to see us, and Ruth got to stay home with her own Grandma and Grandpa from Illinois!

We even had a skype visit from Grandma Donna, Grandpa Bill and Aunty Sarah (I heart technology!)

And when we arrived home for the first time, guess who was waiting for us!? Grandma Bonnie and Grandpa Steve!

We feel so blessed by all the family and friends who were there to welcome Peyton and by those who had to welcome her from afar! We felt surrounded by your love and prayers and love you all!

Welcome Baby Peyton

On October 6, 2011 at 8:08am we welcomed a beautiful and perfect baby girl into this world.
Peyton Marie McGinnis weighed in at 6lbs 5oz and was 19 1/4in long.

Pre Baby Fun

In the last weeks before the baby was due we decided to cram in a little fun by going to museums, an art festival, going out to dinner and just enjoying our last times as a family of 3.

First we hit up the Playseum on Capitol Hill...where I was incarcerated
 Robert and Owen saddled up...
And made a pit stop at Dominos Pizza...

 Where Owen got a job...

Until we stumbled upon a pirate ship
And he took to sword fighting instead :)

A little cuddle time with mama and baby sister
Enjoying mint chocolate chip ice cream in Old town
And hot cocoa the next day at the Del Ray Art Festival (hello October temperature swings!)

And a final date night for mama and daddy, the evening before I went into labor

(39 weeks 5days pregnant)

Cox Farms 2011

Each year we look forward to the Fall Festival at Cox Farms and this year there was much anticipation for it since Owen could remember the things we had seen and done last year. It was pretty crowded but it was a beautiful, warm early fall day and Owen enjoyed every minute of being there.

This series of pictures cracks me up so I had to include them all! Here is Owens first time going down the potato sack slide by himself...
