Growing Peyton- 11 months

On September 6th Peyton turned 11 months old! We love this silly, sassy girl so much and we have so much fun with her! Its been really neat to watch her personality come out more and more, and though we don't always agree, I love seeing her start to form her own opinions.

Her favorite "word" is UHOH! and she says it any time she hears something hit the ground. She has made a game out of throwing things out of her crib and car seat and off of her high chair tray, always exclaiming "UHOH!"

Peyton can now stand for several seconds without holding on to anything and can squat down to the ground when standing on her own. She stands well until she realizes that nothing is holding her up, then she moves herself safely to the sitting position. She has also started taking steps when pushing something like a toy or box across the floor. On August 15th she climbed the stairs for the first time all by herself, and now anytime she spots stairs she heads right toward them to try out her newest skill.

Peyton loves music these days and dances anytime she hears it. It can be music on the radio or a song coming from one of her toys, but either way she bounces and moves her arms and head while its playing. Peyton also started waving this month and does it when we say "bye bye" or "night night"

On August 18th we took the kids to Virginia Beach and Peyton touched the Atlantic Ocean for the first time. She didn't mind the water at all, and even tried crawling right out into the surf! Peyton loves the water, and wants to be in it all the time. Now, when she hears the shower or bath tub come on she does her "Mowgli" crawl as fast as she can right to the bathroom. And if the gate or door is closed, look out, because she takes it personally if she cannot be a part of the bath/shower time too.

It has been a busy 4 weeks for this little stinker and I cannot believe we are headed straight toward her first birthday! Bring on the cake!

Peyton & Ellie at 11 months-

(I had to include these...this is Peyton's way of saying "Hi" when she is excited to see someone -a surprised face with mouth wide open and eyebrows raised)
