On June 6th Peyton turned 8 months old! What a silly and sweet little girl she is, and she is really showing off her personality these days. Within the past 4 weeks she has turned into quite the mama's girl and has gotten a pretty good case of separation anxiety. We've been paged to pick her up from the nursery every Sunday this month and any time someone tries to hold her she just looks at me and cries. As soon as I take her back, its all smiles again though!
Tummy time has quickly turned into "practice crawling time" as she pushes herself up onto all fours (sometimes on hands and knees, and sometimes on hands and feet in a downward-dog-type-yoga position). She hasn't made any forward progress yet, but she surely knows how to push herself backwards and often gets caught up under a table or chair.
Just days before turning 8 months old Peyton's first 2 teeth came through on the bottom. First the left one, then the right one within a day or two. We were hoping that was a major contributor to the separation issues, but it doesn't seem to have resolved with the erupting of the teeth. None-the-less, it was a fussy few days when they were coming in and we are happy to have a cheerful, smiley baby back. Oh! And since those teeth have come in Peyton has a new found fascination with her tongue. She moves it back and forth by her lips while making funny noises and also sticks it way out for all to admire.
Her food repertoire has now expanded beyond the oatmeal cereal-prunes-bananas-peas-sweet potatoes-squash range and also includes applesauce, green beans, carrots, avocado and apricots. She eagerly eats her prunes and anything in the orange/yellow color range (sweet potatoes, squash, carrots, bananas, applesauce), but with a little coaxing will typically eat most anything she is offered. And she shows us she is finished by sticking her hands in her mouth, then rubbing her nose and eyes and grabbing her hair...which often results in bath time after eating :)
