Owen and I were so proud to go cheer for Robert and 2 of our friends Mike & Kristy when they ran the Woodrow Wilson Half Marathon on September 19th. The course took them from historic Mount Vernon Virginia (George & Martha Washington's Home), down the George Washington Memorial Parkway, across the Woodrow Wilson Bridge entering Maryland, and finished at The Awakening statue in National Harbor. (Gee, after reading that description you could never be mistaken on where we live!)
Owen and I arrived early to a remote spot along GW Parkway which we estimated was at mile 6 or so, just about the 1/2 way point. We were ready to cheer, cameras, coffee & hot cocoa in hands-
Where they're coming from...and where they're going!

When else would Owen get to play in the middle of GW Parkway?

First up, here comes Mike!

Then Robert! YAY!

And here's the back of Kristy (white shirt) because somehow, I ALWAYS miss her!
The race finishers w/the bridge in the background! Great job guys!

Robert finished the half marathon in about an hour and 50mins, and his generous goal was to finish in 2hrs! So proud of the dedication and accomplishment!
